Batteries and Service
At American Battery Corporation, we put service first. We install batteries at no additional cost (for most applications) and clean your terminals. We perform starter and alternator tests and check for electrical draws in your system – all at no additional cost! Your satisfaction is our #1 concern. We want to be able to service you in the future, so we want you to be happy with your experience with us. American Battery never has, and never will, sell a battery to anyone that doesn’t need one. We have state-of-the-art testing equipment and we know what we’re doing. We can test your battery to make sure you need one before you buy it.
Our History
Pete Dufaud, a retired Air Force officer with 22 years of service, opened American Battery Corporation in the fall of 1983. Pete and his wife, Nannette (Sam), worked side-by-side to establish 
American Battery Corporation. At that time, Steve, Pete and Sam’s youngest son, was at the Air Force Academy. He became a Navigator and was stationed at Minot, ND, with his wife Lisa. All three kids were born in Minot. He was a Navigator in the B-52H while at Minot. After 7 years of active duty service, Steve and Lisa decided to make a change…
The Family Business Grows…
In 1994, Steve, Lisa and kids move to Colorado Springs to join the family business, American Battery Corporation. As we continue to grow, we see an opportunity to open up another battery store in Pueblo. Meanwhile, Brad, Pete and Sam’s middle son, was stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL. He 
was on active duty while flying the AC-130. In 1995, Brad, his wife Lori and 3 kids move to Pueblo to run the new battery shop. Brad had 13 years of active duty service.
Steve and Brad still run the Colorado Springs and Pueblo stores. Pete is still an integral part of both locations. Sam is retired and enjoying life.
